About this month’s pick
A book-festival job once put Sophie Pattison close to the literary world she loves. With her personal life falling apart, she turns to a novelist’s work for company—and begins imagining a connection that could change her life. The novel explores the comforts of reading alongside the messier work of finding companionship outside a book.
